Hey friends! It's been a while since I took a minute to say hello! Many of you know me but for those that are new here, I'm Roxie! If you don't know already, the last few years of my life brought me a lot of changes, including heart ache, loss, and a big career move.
In addition to a new home for The Merc, you may have noticed less interaction from the team over the last year, less social media posts and emails, and no new blog posts. The events of the last year definitely took the wind out of my sails and, well, I just haven't had anything to say. At least not anything I should have said publicly!
Most days I have just been learning how to breathe again. I may have more to share about that in the future, but for now, just know that life has been hard.
Today I finally felt the urge to put some words down on paper (or on the computer screen) and that is the most wonderful feeling, to feel like you are coming back to life. I am also feeling overwhelmingly grateful to be sitting here in this beautiful space, and to feel so loved by so many that have embraced me during this difficult season. Even in the darkness there have been blessings upon blessings!
To those that have followed The Southern Mercantile for a long time, thank you for sticking with us when things might have seemed a little weird, distant, or unorganized. To those that are new, thanks for joining our little community here. We promise to get it together and get back to sharing more of what we love, the beauty and ease of small town, southern living and the life lessons that have been learned along the way.
To all of you near and far, thank you for your kindness and your support. The best is yet to come!
